The problem that might arise is that each valve is tuned to the fuel injection system and the ECU is preprogrammed to see a certain flow.
Some year/model/engine/fuel injection system is more forgiving than another so trial and error is the only way to go without having all the specs for both valves.
I don't think you would harm anything since it is only a 12V On/Off coil with no specific resistance since the opening speed is determined on how long the 12V (ground actually) On/Off signal is applied.
I know for sure about a Volvo EVAP purge valve that will not work in the wrong year/model/engine since I have one on the shelf and I have been trying to get rid of it but no go.
The car that it is designed for doesn't seem to kill its EVAP valve but other Volvo models do so I have been trying to plug it in so I could get it off the shelf but it doesn't run the EVAP tank integrity test properly or not at all on the cars it is not made for even though it looks identical on the outside.
