other than the 8 lbs. or so of oil sitting at the bottom of the engine at 60F hotter than before hardly contains enough extra heat to make a difference compared to the other couple or three hundred lbs. of metal and water under the hood. Yeah, heat is probably the #1 enemy of DIC life, combined with the high voltage. The industry, and even Saab with Trionic T-8, has adopted individual coil over plug and never mind capacitive discharge and the tricks you can play with it (multi-spark plug cleaning on shutdown, for example). With the electronics relocated to a cooler place than sitting on top of the engine, in the valley between the cam covers.
