I replaced tensioner/pulley unit on the car at 133k thinking it was the source of the rattling only find out that it was not the issue. Hence another alternator put on at 133k. I just switched to short belt yesterday as part of r/r of alternator again. No more rattling noise. Shop gave me Bosche literature that came with newly rebuilt unit that provides free 2 yr jump start or tow service by Bosche if unit fails such that car won't run. I have never had one of these units fail that way.
