and has done so since I got the car as a CPO in like 2005.
The Saab dealer (remember those?...) initially tried a couple of things like replacing the CPS before the service manager remembered a Saab service note that had addressed the issue, but was specifically aimed at west coast dealers.
It's (in my case, anyhow) caused by the seasonal switchover in fuel mixtures when the refineries change from summer blend to winter. This year, we had an unusually cold snap in late August. When I went out to the Aero in the morning after an overnight low temp of like 40, I chuckled to myself as I started the car - same symptoms as yours. After 3 stumble-starts, back to normal. Next day, after overnight low of maybe 60 degrees, started up on first attempt.
The Aero does this consistently, every year when the weather overnight begins to turn cold. By mid-October, no matter how cold it gets overnight, it starts right up, first try. The condition is also made worse by some particular brands of fuel, but I suspect that has to do with how the different refineries work. In the past, Mobil fuel was the worst and Sunoco was the best, in terms of how long the problem persisted before going away.
You can put a can of Techron in the tank if it makes you feel better, but in my experience, it's a waste of $$.
