I had the baffle in the tank get in the way of the float arm and ended up running out of gas with 1/2 tank showing. I assumed bad fuel pump and when I tried to get the old one out had to wrestle with the baffle. I replaced pump anyway as I had a spare and 130k on the odo, and threw the baffle away.
I'm sure it got there when my son was driving around Saginaw and a semi abruptly cut into our lane. Son wrenched the wheel on to the gravel shoulder and then back after clearing the truck. I was amazed we didn't roll as it was a bit of a drop. After we settled down we had a talk about making violent changes. Of course the semi didn't give us much choice on the first move.
