Cleaning the contacts sounds like a start. Think I'm a bit confused about problem. Was it first registering 1/4 then 1/8, and now is not registering at all? Wonder if a contact or wire has gone bad. I'm guessing a new unit may cure it, but odo sounds easier and cheaper.

I've never put 18.4gal in either, and I thought I had run it uncomfortably low. I think 17.5 was the most I have put in.
