1999 SE 2.3 lpt 4cyl automatic with 317k miles. transmission fluid dripping slowly from between engine and transmission. been weeping for few years and recently starting to leave several drips each night or so on the garage floor. I believe entire engine would have to come out to replace the seal. that could create more problems with this quite settled 20 year old with over 300k on it. will this eventually give way and lose lots of fluid and leave me stranded? and damage my tranny? or is it OK to just leave it be and wipe up the drip and top off if needed. I do a drain and fill every 10k and so far haven't needed to top off. thoughts and advice welcomed as I can live with the drip if I can get another 4-5 years out of her maybe get to 400k. should I be concerned that it will "just go" someday and release too much fluid while driving? thanks !!
