One of the main things I would say is to steer clear of anything that contains sealers. Those can really cause a lot of grief. I know people who fell prey to the temptation and were sorry later.
How have you determined you're dealing with a leak? Does the AC work at first when filled with the proper amount by weight and then gradually lose effectiveness? As I understand it the 9-5 has a variable-displacement compressor, so you cannot diagnose a low refrigerant problem by system pressures like on older AC systems. Obviously make sure the rest of the AC system is working, condenser fan, any blend doors that control temperature, etc.
Check hoses for signs of oil leaking out with the refrigerant. UV dyes can help but if the leak is in an inaccessible place obviously you won't catch it that way. I use an electronic leak detector.
These are just general suggestions. I've worked on the AC systems on 9000s and C900s, but not the 9-5.
