There are two issues; sorry if my post was confusing.
The first ("ABS/TCS Master Alarm") has only happened two times - months apart - over the past six months or so - and that is that the ABS, triangle, etc. lights were lit on the dash and stayed on until the car was turned off. In both instances, I pulled over right away and turned the car off and re-started. They did not re-appear when the car was re-started and it's been so intermittent that I've just been praying to the Saab gods that it is a fluke and not a real issue.
The second issue ('Phantom Alerts') started recently where I'll hear the chime but until yesterday I did not know of anything else that was happening at the same time. Yesterday, I saw that when the chime came on, the triangle warning light would illuminate very briefly and NOT stay illuminated. It did that two or three times, probably five seconds apart, before I shut the car off and went into the store. When I started the car and drove home, nothing happened at all. This issue has been happening for about a month or so, but also very intermittent and only on short trips as far as I can tell (I haven't been driving it a lot this summer because the a/c is not working, so pretty much every time I start it it's for a short trip), but it's not happening every time I drive it.
The two issues could very well be related, but I definitely only saw the triangle light yesterday, and unlike the first issue, nothing stays illuminated, and I think they are different enough that they also could possibly be two separate issues.
