The price, per quart, of Toyota T-IV at most Lexus or Toyota dealers is about 6-7 dollars. The drain and refill process takes roughly the same amount of time, as a crankcase oil change.
Your objective IMO is not to "shock" the system with all new fluids. You want IMO to gently upgrade the properties of the existing fluid and extract a proportional amount of the dirt. You want the rest of your busy day to continue as scheduled, no surprises. I don't see the point, with all due respect to the guys making money at this. My sense is, "pros" are under pressure to follow WIS 100%, and to recommend strict adherence, whether it makes practical sense to Joe Fix-it or not. You know, the way your physician has to do all those tests when you come to him with a sprained elbow.
My sense is, if the engineers that developed this transmission wanted all the fluid out, they'd have designed it so it was easy to do. I think flushes are for when the consumer has added the wrong fluid, to be perfectly frank.
