Follow-up...A big thank you to Bernie who used his Tech2 to diagnose the drivers side rear wheel speed sensor, or the related signal wire crimp connector as a possible culprit.
Bernie pointed me to Dano in Texas ABS fix:

I replaced the crimps with solder connections and problem has not returned.
I didn't know about this issue and the related brake light switch.
This group is a treasure, helping me keep my 9-5 going...
