Fortunately, the only SRS problems I have had are a more simple impact sensor failure (diagnosed by a Tech 2) so I am no authority. I hope someone with more experience can join the discussion. But generally with electrical problems it is useful to check all of the connections first by referring to the Workshop Information System. I believe it is an important rule to always disconnect the battery before working on any SRS issues or equipment. The danger of an accidental discharge is too great. The diagnostic procedures in WIS can also be very useful because they use a systematic approach based on the system engineering design. Have you had any work done lately that could have resulted in a disconnected plug or ground? I have also heard of problems with the clock spring in the steering column causing intermittent SRS error codes, but it takes some expert diagnosis to narrow it down like that.
