Don - I’m not sure where you are getting your capacities from - the link you attached is for a 2010 model and shows much less R134A required than you have put in (and frankly than other Saab models). The capacities can vary - many are 1.9 lbs, others 1.8, etc. In any event, if your car is 2008, you are linking to the wrong WIS pages.

Looking at WIS for 2008, you should have 825Grams (about 1.8 lbs) in the system, plus the oil which is usually pre loaded in a new compressor.

These variable displacement compressors are very sensitive to over and under charge by weight and will nit properly function. Unlike old cars, where gauges were used to fill, the most accurate way to ensure proper load is to have a shop with the proper equipment do the evacuation and reload. They can tell you how much they took out and ensure the correct weight is put in.

Only when the correct weight is known to be in the system can gauges be used to diagnose pressure issues.

(There should also be a sticker under the hood by above the radiator and condenser that gives the correct capacities).
