Hi, update.
- asked the local garage for help;
- they checked the “crank signal”, I suppose the CPS, it was fine;
- measured fuel pressure at the rail - this was way too low. Aha!
At their suggestion I replaced the fuel pump in the tank.
- still no start.
I digged up my own fuel pressure gauge tonight and it reluctantly got to 20-25. But I have no idea what it would measure when the car ran fine. Itches gauge is of the finest Chinese quality.
Next I swapped the connectors on the fuel pump, because i just wasn’t sure. No change.
I tried spraying starter fluid in the intake, upstream of the MAF while cranking at the same time. Liberal amounts where sprayed. Absolutely no hint of firing.
I’m at a loss and in a pickle, I going to find a workshop the coming Monday where I can have it dropped of. This is a challenge because in this part of the world its very hard to find a competent mechanic that even has time on a short notice.
