After taking my 2003 Aero (130k miles) out after a few weeks, I noticed a strong gas smell. Discovered a gas-soaked mouse nest packed over the fuel pump under its cover. (The car is stored in an outbuilding in the northeast…) After cleaning out the nest, found the chewed-through hole in the rubber feed hose (circled in red in the photo), also a loose piece of plastic in the hose next to it (blue circle). Seeking advice on how to proceed, I will have local mechanic do the repair. Suggestions appreciated!
