I just took delivery of a Canadian model 2002 9-5 with the Bi-Xenon option. As far as I can tell, there is very little differnce between the lights in any of the three switch positons. At far Left the Xenons will not go to hi-beam and the fog lamps will not come on. However, the daytime lights are still the Xenons. In position to far right the Xenon high beams come on and the fog lights function but the halogens do not operate. I removed the daytime running light fuse(#35) to see what happens. In this case when switch is to the left the Xenons are off and if you "flash" the high beams the Halogens come on, this is the only way I have found to get the halogens to come on. With fuse #35 in, i.e daytime running lights activated , the "flash" function is performed by the Xenon lights.
What I would like to have set up is for the halogens to run as the daytime lights when switch is to the left and only have the Xenons on when switch is to the right. This would , I think, save wear on the expensive Xenons, which are severe overkill as daytime running lights. It would also be nice if the halogens switched on with the high beams, as I undertand the european cars are set up.
Can anyone who has the Xenon setup in Europe please explain how the light function on thier cars?????
