While I agree with your swiotch position assertion below"
OFF................Yellow & white parking lights on as DRL; foglights always off
MIDDLE.............Same as OFF, but foglights can be switched on
ON.................Bi-xenons on, foglights can be switched on, but fogs turn off when in "bright"
. . . I don't think it's the "full truth."
I contend that the "MIDDLE" position the same as the "OFF" position WHEN THE CAR IS RUNNING. When the engine is shut off, won't the middle position leave the lights on and drain the battery?
I have a feeling that this is the same condition whether or not you have the Tech II change made. Is this correct?
A side note, I *still* wish there was a way to disable ALL exterior lights when the car is running in DRL mode, e.g., when backing into my garage which faces a neighbor's living room. Both for courtesy and safety (the latter in the remote case of being followed by a thug, which did once happen to some friends of the family), I'd like Saab to offer a "kill switch" to douse the lights temporarily, just like good ol' regular headlights. "Daytime" running lights should be on just as they say--in the DAYtime.
