1.) I also opted for the manual so no opinion but from all I've heard it's a winner.
2.)I couldn't tell you but it's probably a nice feature.
3.)I love the bi-zenons. Great illumination at night and it's a real kick when my wife and I switch cars and I can see the Aero following me. It does look cool.
4.)The brushed aluminum is great. I have steel grey with charcoal interior and it really gives it a sporty look.
5.)The wheels are a b.... to clean but when they sparkle they look nice. The tires are fine.
6.) Never drove the 00' Aero but had the 95' and 93' and this is way more sophisticated so it's unfair to compare.
7.) Saw on 03' Cosmic Blue Aero SW in the dealer showroom the other day and it did look nice. Not a color for me but I was impressed.
My 02' Aero SW is a blast to drive . I love the feel, the looks, and the versatility. In between Aeros I had a BMW 528i and couldn't wait to get back to an Aero. It is so much more fun to drive and It fits me better than the BMW.
Have fun test driving but you won't go wrong with an Aero.
