The hayday for the Saab marque in HK is in the early 1990s, when the Saab 900 appealed to many yuppies, and Saab was the 3rd best selling European make after Mercedes and BMW, with the dealer having a total of 3 showrooms (in Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and New Territories) and 4 service centres across the territory.
By the time I bought my 9000 CS 2.0LPT in 1995, only 2 showrooms and 3 service centres were left. The worst came last year when only 2 service centres remained and all showrooms (no kidding) folded. The service centres provide a skeleton showroom service by housing a new 9-5 for demonstration.
Despite the obvious difficulty, I still see a small number of 9-5 sedans and wagons running around, and the tech told me that the top of the range 9-5 Aero, Griffin and 9-3 Viggen had been sold to existing Saab owners. Don't bother with residual value, you will be lucky to get 15% after 5 years of ownership.
The Saab marque is generally misunderstood in HK as mechanically unrealiable, difficult to service and parts difficult to obtain and expensive. I don't think these are objective and justified particularly in comparision with Mercedes and BMW and existing Saab owners know better.
