I agree with Bryce.I bought a set of Saab's Gislaved snows on the snowflake alloy wheels for my 99 9-5 170hp.They handled as well as the michlen mxv's on my car and if anything may have been somewhat quieter.Ran about 2500-3000 miles this winter-didn't show much tread wear.
I live in south central Pennsylvania - didn't get a lot of snow this winter,but when my sloped driveway was covered with 6" of snow was able to get out onto the street.Last year tried same thing with my 'all season MXV's on 1/2" of snow and couldn't make it halfway up the driveway.GO with the snows for peace of mind and your safety and wave to the BMW's that slide off the road as you go by.
