They are located in Switzerland. ("Hirsch" is not exactly a Scandinavian name.) Be sure to insure your ECU for its full retail value when you ship it, and pack it very carefully. If you have an large anti-static bag for a home computer component, this would be excellent.
I will be interested to read of your experience....I too am interested in their upgrades, over-priced as they are. What will be your total cost? They list the Step 1 Aero kit at 1781 Euros, which is $1511 USD. That seems awfully high to me....or does that include a new ECU?
It is rumored that Hirsch is preparing to set up a shop in the USA. That would be very good news indeed! I personally am not prepared to deal with an overseas company. The potential warranty and support problems are too great. I have communicated by email with Andreas Rolli at Hirsche, and he verified this last fall, though he offered no details. I hope they pick Seattle, though I expect they will set up shop in the Northeast where Saabs are more common. If they do well, perhaps we can hope for a West Coast dealer also in the future.
BTW, Mike, where do you live? Will you offer demo rides to all us interested SaabNetters?
