The V6 used in the Saturn and Caterra is an Opel engine; the Saab V6 is a Vauxhall engine. Neither the Saab 4 in recent years or the V6 has had significant recalls although Saab has issued slightly more service bulletins on the 4 - at least in the US. Both are solid reliable engines although I should not call either state of the art. The Aero is a fine performance vehicle. However, until Saab couples that High Output Turbo with all wheel drive as well as some form of electronic traction control to control the torque steer, its appeal as a luxury performance vehicle will be limited.
