I think there might be two different issues, the one we have regressed to here is the telescopic steering joint issue. It is a sensation that is felt when turning slowly, or starting from a stop, or braking slowly, particularly while turning. It only happens once per episode, as the slight movement of the telescopic joint is absorbed during acceleration or braking. It's really hard to describe as it is more of a sensation than an actual noise. It feels like something down near the center of the car (base of the steering column) is shifting ever so slightly. The first time mine was fixed the technician explained it to me as a slight normal movement in the telescopic steering joint that was not moving smoothly and thus needed lubrication. He did that, and it went away for several months. However, it is back, and he is gone.... the latest service writer guy is trying to tell me it is the motor mounts and is normal. Wrong, wrong!
