As wired from the factory, for USA and Canada, the high beam filaments are driven through fuse 7 (in the headlight fuse box) via a relay that opens when the Xenons are lit. Fuses 10 and 12, which protect the high beam circuits in other markets, are used only for the bi-Xenon shutter motors. In other markets the circuits fed through fuses 10 and 12 drive both the halogen filaments and the shutter motors. My modification essentially duplicates the wiring for all other markets, except the filament circuits are hooked together back at the relay (which is absent in other markets). I think it is prudent to keep both circuits completely separate - hence cutting one of the wires there. I can't imagine anyone allowing the circuits to be joined once they are aware of how it's supposed to be from reading the circuit diagrams.
A photo of the wiring wouldn't show much ... and it would be a chore, since it entails pulling the panel that hold the fuses and relays back out of the relay box (again). While I *could* scan the page in the manual, it would be strictly valid only for MY 2002 - it's *probably* the same for other years, but I couldn't verify that. Also, I think anyone who modifies the wiring of their car should have the circuit diagrams.
