reading the rest of the posts, if you did indeed back out the helicoil (rare, btw), you can reinstall a new one. But you'll still need the same kit; the risk is that you didn't back out a helicoil.
Check the threads that you backed out...if they're aluminum, you didn't back out a helicoil. If the thread is a solid steel helix (it will peel off the bolt and will be magnetic) it's a helicoil. If it cracks off and isn't magnetic, it's aluminum and you'll have to use the same kit to match the existing bolt, i.e., use the helicoil tap and install a helicoil with the installation mandrel.
