I've never owned a 9000. The hood doesn't even open up the right way. I've driven some back 10 years ago and was impressed with the power. I don't know about reliability of the older ones. I've had good luck with my 85T 4dr and my recently purchased 86T 3dr. They seem much easier to work on than any American car I've owned. 15 years of driving Saabs has made me a firm believer of the ingenuity of the Swedes. One day I'll get my 74 99 EMS back on the road. Six long years in the garage for some bodywork. Getting too lazy the last couple of years. The car took second in the concourse at the 1990 convetion in Sturbridge, Mass. Even Eric"on the roof" Carlsson was impressed. (he owned an identical one back in Sweden)
He said "ooh la la, mine never looked like this." Quite a compliment from a man so great. I'll probably drive Saabs forever. The best thing for us is that you can get a used one for cheap, 'cause they don't hold their value. Isn't life great. So what are you doing up a 3am?
