a few years back oil filters suddenly got smaller.. not slightly smaller but a lot smaller.. an oil filter for xyz car was suddenly half the size it used to be.. i always have ask for the "bigger" ones they still make em.. just done this on my saab today.. an oil filter for a saab 900 says i.. up pops the guys with a "little" one.. i says have u got any of the old bigger ones.. being an old timer he knew what i meant.. he say these are the ones they used to use so i says that will do.. he he..

anyways.. have they really sqeezed a quart into a pint pot or am i wasting my time with the "bigger" ones.. he he.. the guy in the garage put it down to one of lifes little mysteries when i mentioned it..

kinda funny but the shrinking filters kinda came into being about the time they changed the average oil-change intervals from 6000 miles to 10000 as well... he he he.. and if the "little" ones last just as long.. why do they still make the bigger ones...????
