Do you know when the rear main oil seal (behind the flywheel) was last done and if not replace it. It's amazing how a $7.00 seal can give peace of mind, you'll already have the flywheel out so it's the perfect time. A Saab tool is needed to insert the seal but you can make a plate from a piece of wood, search the board it's pretty simple.
Your slave Cyl. bolts (there will be three) most likely will be allen bolts but sometimes they have been replaced with hex bolts. I believe the allen's are 5mm but can't remember (it's been awhile).
TRUST ME ON THIS ONE!
Get yourself a small ratcheting hand wrench and an allen bit set or at least the allen size needed, this way you crack the allen bolts with a standard allen wrench then switch to the R.W. w/ proper bit and turn away. Myself, I use a small 1/4 ratcheting wrench with a bit, with this set-up I have to put a little duck tape around the bit to make a snug fit but Sears will most likely have a ratcheting bit wrench. It's so nice to ratchet out the bolts, makes it fast, easy and less cursing.... which is a plus.
You will notice a plastic piece screwed into the clutch shaft when you take the cover plate off you will need to twist it out, then take out one of your 12mm gearbox bolt's for the front gearbox cover and screw it into the shaft leaving a bit exposed ( make sure it's a bolt with a shoulder). Next a large pry-bar to pry it out, Saab has a tool that slides over the bolt and drop's into a grove so you grab tightly around the bolt and pry.
I took a piece of square steel tube'g and made my own version, works great. Long screwdrivers are good but remember how someone mentioned "lub'g the shaft when putting back together" well if that wasn't done the last time, it will be a PIA to pry out. Also this is where you want to protect your rad incase you slip off the bolt you don't punch a hole in it.
resurface your flywheel and once you've installed the flywheel BEFORE you slide the PP and slave in, clean the surface with Brake cleaner not carb cleaner. make sure to use locktight on the Flywheel and PP bolt's, do not use it on the slave cause it's going into alum. Follow torque spec's and keep the Bently handy and have fun
