I spoke with Oilite today to find a local distributor that carries it... got a good education about bushings too :)
I was told Oilite bushings are made of approx. 90% copper and 10% tin; along with oil... if you put the bushing on a piece of paper it will actually leave a mark. That sound like the right combination of metals?
I ordered bushings with an outer diameter of 7/16" and 1/2" because my pedal is already beyond 3/8" at its widest point. No harm in the extra diameter i assume?
I figure this will cost vitually nothing to try (although i may pay a shop with a drill press to drill the hole if i can't find a friend with a 7/16 or 1/2 inch bit). Since i'm not messing with anything else inside the car, if it doesn't work i'll then order a new pedal. Dave New's site suggests that this repair should last longer than a brand new pedal (and come with a satisfaction of doing the repair myself!:)
Feel free to add any other comments, otherwise i'll follow-up when i'm done (this weekend or early next week, depending upon when bushings arrive and the drill obstacle).
THANKS AGAIN for everyone's help and comments!
