I agree with you Anders that fooling with the a/c obstacles to make the wiper assy easier to remove would be my choice too, if I was repairing someone else's prized machine, as your work requires. With our own vehicles though, and with only Saturday mechanic skills (lifelong, however), sometimes a risk looks like the better choice. If that dadburned pass side wiper stud was only 1/2" shorter, there would be no problems. You can betcha that I thought long and hard before bending that rain gutter! Not my first choice. If done carefully, the only evidence of that bending is in the gutter only, not on the car's visible cowl sheet metal.
Now then, any suggestions about re-fixing that short drive crank arm back to the wiper motor output shaft? It should not rotate there, am I right?
