As others have noted, removed the ground cable if you are just removing one. Do you have the Radio code to reset upon reconnection of the battery? You will be removing the hot lead on the starter/solenoid later and doing it this way prevents almost all screwup. You could also cover the ground terminal on the battery with one of those plastic caps you get on new batteries too (you did keep one, didn't you).
If you have a hard top, are doing the car inside, I like to remove the hood. Put a couple of old towels folded and centered on the top of your car, open the hood, remove the 2 12mm bolts at the pivot points, DISCONNECT the hose to the window washers at the junction near the hood, get a friend to help you lift the hood up, rotate upside down, walk to the middle of the car and set on the towels on the car. Just like the shops do. It helps give you more access to the rear of the engine (which is at the front of the car) to get the cover off or open to get to those bolts. Also better light, and my back always appreciated it...
Yes, no need to remove the intake manifold. do remove the clip on the dip stick at the top to allow it to move around. either take notes or take pictures of the vacuum lines, some always come loose...
take your time and you can remove the starter, you just have to turn it just so....
bet the replacement one slips in faster, don't know why but it always does...
make sure you tighten the connections on the starter well.
