Hi landa,
I maintain three turbo 900's that do 1000 miles each week. Here's the routine for an oil change:
1. Warm the oil and drive the car onto a 4x4 piece of wood under the left front wheel
2. Place a drain bucket under the drain plug
3. Unscrew the plug and clean with a rag
4. Unscrew/remove the oil filter by hand, or oil filter strap tool
5. Wipe the oil filter sealing surface on the motor
6. Place new filter against the old filter rubber seal and spread w/finger
7. I use Fram PH16's with no problem...sometimes the threaded portion inside the oil filter housing unthreads and makes it difficult to remove/install the oil filter. Just use your fingers and tighten it so it gives extra space when installing the new filter
8. Wipe oil drain area and install drain plug
9. Pour in 4.5 qts of oil
10. Start motor, look for leaks, shut-off...then check oil level
Hot Tip - Write the mileage and date on the filter for future reference
