I had read your earlier post regarding having to cut throught the slave and shaft as the last resort, but I don't think it had settled into my brain that that may be what I will be doing. I'm hoping it's not, but I'm starting to fear that it may come to that given what I've tried already to no avail.
The sad part to all of this is that, upon initial inspection after removing the clutch cover, the friction disc appears to be new. It must have been replaced just prior to me purchasing the car with 123K miles on it 2 years ago (I have since put on 25K miles). I compared the thickness of it to the new one I planned on installing. The only reason I'm in here is due to the whining noise I had whenever the clutch pedal was pressed down. It also felt like the system was cable-driven vs. hydraulic. I was told it's probably the release bearing. I also think that's where the missing plastic propeller went. It was probably forgotten to be re-installed when the clutch was replaced. Any idea where I can get another one of those?
Thanks for all the advice and support!
Joe
