*Don't forget the total lack of power anywhere in the rev band (0-60 somewhere around 16 seconds)
My 1994 Auto turbo cnvt would beg to differ. Sure, not fast but 9-10 seconds 0-60 is more accurate.
*significantly accelerated wear on moving parts in the engine, extra spots on the driveway,
Again, 120k without a problem.
*extra heat transfered into the cooling system
But never an overheat.
*tons of noise on the highway (anywhere over 45)
Well, having owned autos and 5spd 900s, not signifigantly diffrent noise (all old 900s are loud)
*and abyssmal fuel mileage.
Abysmal is in the eye of the beholder. 17-22 mpg isn't great but could be a lot worse on a 12 yr old car driven in the DC metro.
Cheers,
Andrew K
