I had a Black '90 900S Airflow that I converted over to a turbo. After it was wrecked (week following the '00 SOC) & insurance offered me a joke I had it appraised in wrecked condition. The appraiser looked at the car & all documented receipts as well as build & finished pix. After that Insurance couldn't argue & cut me a ck for $16,500 & I bought the car back for around $1,500 & sold it as a parts car for another $5,000. My wife had a MINT '91 SE Conv't in Platana Grey that was rear ended & we did the same thing w/ it as well as showing insurance classified listings from TSN & got $8,516 for it. Try to negotiate an insured value w/ your agent & then once you restore it have it appraised & go back to your agent & have the figure adjusted. That is what I have done w/ my '90 Talladega Red SPG I'm building now.
