Matty, you mentioned changing the timing cover...this is where you have to make absolutely sure the pick up tube on the lower left side behind the oil pump is located in the 'new' timing cover with it'seal....have you figuered this part out????? I'm reading you have no oil pressure and an empty oil filter...so NO prime...and yet you (correctly) used vaseline to suck new oil up from the sump on first turnover to prime the pump. I can only think you haven't got that damn pickup tube correctly installed in the rear of your timing cover....review this if you can and get back to us.
