Tried that too, the plugs look good, all the same and all a 'normal' colour. I have also inspected all hoses and boots for leaks, but vacumn is good. Having read through more posts on this board I am definitely thinking it must be the timing chain cogs. It will be interesting to see what I find when I open the cover! Thanks for the input! Angus
