Starting engine removal....First questions... Posted by JLitten007 [Email] (#367) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JLitten007) on Fri, 19 Oct 2007 08:18:11 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Starting the process of swapping out a 90 spg engine (Bad tranny) with a good 88 spg engine.
2 questions out of the gate.
#1. couldn't get the small pin out of the shifter as per Bentley so just just pulled the shifter rod out of the housing by loosening the crimp bolt above the steering rack. will this work?
#2 I've read many a post about breaking the oil cooler when removing the two lines. would it not make sense to just remove the oil filter housing from the block leaving the oil cooler lines attached so as not to mess with them?
I'm prepping the car for the engine removal as I will not have the time to do the deed until later this year and will need to tow it out of the space it's in now and I know that you cant drop the car off the jack stands without an engine to give axle support.
So will do what I can now.
Thanks to all in advance
