I'm still baffled why we even have those bushings anyway. Most cars solid-mount the alternator to the engine... nice thing about doing this is that you don't have to worry about a pesky ground wire to connect your alternator to the chassis.
I think PU is utterly pointless here, and probably even a bad thing. The rubber does just fine for a LONG time. If I was going to do anything here, it would be some sort of sleeve to solid-mount the alternator. I'm still pondering that concept.
