I actually think this was a Bosch thing, not a Saab thing. Lots of European cars had rubber-isolated alternators in the late '70s... I think Saab just stuck with the idea, maybe to quiet noise since the alternator is so close to the cabin.
IIRC, 9000s don't have bushings...
