If it ain't broke... Posted by Larry West [Email] (#1140) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Larry West) on Mon, 9 Jun 2008 17:20:26 In Reply to: question about using dwell meter with CIS, saab86, Mon, 9 Jun 2008 07:51:37 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
...don't fix it...
Looks like you are set. I wouldn't worry about it too much. I seem to recall years back when I tried exactly what you are doing (and YES, a Dwell meter is a recommended tool for this!), I had similar indications. Problem is, by the time you get the mixture lean or rich enough to budge the dwell meter, the motor stumbles horribly. If idle is within spec, and all your lambda readings are good, call it a day, button it up, and enjoy a cold beverage...
Unless... Are you running closed-loop? as in with the O2 sensor connected? I think, perhaps, you'll get the needle deflection you are looking for if you disconnect the O2 sensor. The Lambda box is simply compensating too fast for the reading to change!
Good Luck!
