It caused my 16V non-turbo to run hot under changing conditions. If I ran at constant throttle/speed on the highway, it would run normal temp. In stop/go traffic or if I varied highway speed in Wash DC commuting traffic, the temp would spike and run hot. Huge difference after changing out the O2 sensor.
I wouldn't have suspected it but others posted the symptoms and the fix on this forum.
A failed O2 sensor might run rich though.
