Is the throw out bearing retracting when the pedal is released? It shouldn't. Depending of the version of slave cylinder (there's been many since the early 99 models) there should either be a black plastic collar with a large C clip or, the version latest, a large rubber covered spring that pushes the throw out bearing against the clutch fingers. In the case of the plastic collar version the plastic collar must be pushed forward to the bearing when the clutch is depressed. The collar then slides back to a resting position and keeps the bearing against the fingers.
