I saw a brand new SPG, approaching a light, black of course. That distinctive chain-wine when decelerating was facinating to me. Then the burble of the exhuast at idle... I wanted one sooo badly, I was 17. My VW rabbit was so lame by comparison.
In 1987 I bought a used 1986 900 S. In 1990 I bought a brand new 1990 base 900 and drove it until it died in the late 1990's.
In 1996 I found (and still have) a 1991 MC yellow convertable. It has been stored inside and covered since the day I bought it.
From 1998 to 2006 I drove Jeep wranglers, but I had a reoccuring dream that I would find a C900 sedan in a garage, brand new. I must have had that dream a dozen times. Boy, was I sick. Then in 2006 I found a 1990 SPG, and bought it. Until 2008 it was my daily driver, now it is (almost completely) restored.
In 2008 I found my current Saab 900 daily driver, a 1993 sedan with a turbo transplant. I smile all 63 miles of driving each day.
Talk about stuck in the past though. I am on a search for another C900 now.
