Hi Slyde. Thanks for both posts. I'm not offended. I'm just at the beginning of learning about Saabs, that's all. Sorry I did not post more info originally: It's a 900s and it is manual. I am not a speed demon so no worries about that--I really did like the way it ran on the highway (and another Saab I recently tried as well--so much nicer ride strong smooth engine, than other cars, except maybe BMW). I did not take it on rough roads though one thing we want to do this summer is go camping and I really liked that so many Saabs have great cargo space with seats that fold down etc.
I am in NY. I see another Saab being advertised--1996 Saab 900SE Turbo - 89k miles. I will go look at that.
Just remember I'm not a car buff and this is the beginning of a learning curve. I can see why you love these classic Saabs. I felt like it had its own personality :).
I really loved the look and feel of that car although it was going to become my bf's car over time as he's accustomed to driving a stick (or keep it as a second car). I know it sounds silly but I didn't like the way the seller handled the situation at all. My other concern is the a/c, and not knowing what is wrong exactly--or if we recharge it how long will it last--ie if we go on a 2 week trip etc.
