Still fooling with the problem of the leaky fuel accumulator replacement. Disconnected the line from the fuel pump and covered fuel pump outlet with rubber glove finger. Did the same removal of line where attached to the fuel filter in engine compartment. Carefully with low pressure air blew out fuel lines. Today want to attach the 18" long 5/16 nylon line to the peared back stubs from fuel accumulator ends of these hoses. From practice on an old fuel line in the kitchen believe I will need a minute to a minute and a half of time with my Harbour Freight heat gun to heat the metal union before shoving it into the old plastic line. The 18" line I plan to coil to give me freedom to attach to the parallel fuel accumlator line ends. Still spooked about using this heat gun so near the full fuel tank--have a fire extinguisher handy and believe the empty lines should make the procedure safe. I found the new line took just 10 seconds in boiling water to install the union but even a minute in boiling water was not enough to soften the old line enough to install the union. Will see how this all goes and let you know.
