My sending unit in my '93 900 T CE basically fell apart. I tried to pull the sending unit out for inspection, and I had to use a long, thin magnet tool to get the cylinder housing that holds the sending unit together out. However, I was able to put the sending unit back together after soldering a piece that broke. I also had to drill a small hole on the outside of the cylinder in order to put a small screw in to keep the housing from falling in the fuel again. CRAZY! It's been working fine since.
