I also have SPG springs (on my base '90) & find the ride very harsh. The handling is so much better, though, that if I ever went back to standard springs I'd have to swap out front & rear sway bars for heavier units in order to retain the crisp handling I get from the stiffer springs.
As a concession, I replaced my H-rated tires (BFG Traction T/As) with T-rated ones (same BFGs). The ride difference is vastly improved over the seriously stiffer BFG H-rated sidewalls. I've only ever used Boge Turbo gas shocks on this car, so I have no idea how they compare to the Konis.
