Dan,

A hose that is clear, means that there is no fluid; even though after you bleed the system, you may see small pockets of air. As for the clear hose, I would not think so; it simply means air was sucked in.

Is the puddle on both sides of the floor, or only on the passenger's side?

What of the corners below the seat? Do you see any fluid, perhaps that could have dripped down from a piston out to the floor and into the underpadding?

Did you check the bypass valve in the trunk?

The only way is to refill the system and run.

When I did that on the car, I saw hydraulic fluid oozing beneath the pump; despite I changed the O ring. That is when I finaly gave up, and replaced the whole system.

Yes, I know about the mess; that is why I like taking the whole system out to avoid anymore damage. Once everything is out, then you can test away with both rams sitting in a shallow bucket, and the motor in another bucket.

Pink colour is odd; I wonder if it is the clear hoses that are discolored? I would not worry of the colour too much.

The replacement fluid is #10 weight.

I would take both panels out, remove the whole system. Besides, it is more comfortable than squatting/crouching in that small space.

Did you add more fluid and run the pump? to see if the leak was coming from the motor?

As for the fans, the best thing to do is remove the carpet, and the underpadding, and soap them well. Hydraulic fluid is more than likely on the floorpan, and will work on the paint. Once the paint is gone, then rust will form if any leaks from the roof occur. You may wish to inspect the floor carefully, clean and retouch.

Hydraulic fluid has a smelly odour. My underpadding was so soaked, even when I had saturated the sponge with soap and water; the smell was still present. I tossed them, and obtained a good set from a junk yard. My carpet is still stained, so I will look for another rear carpet.

Keep us posted/ Questions;feel free...
