First, clarification. The thing with the 2.5 on it is a fuel pressure regulator (FPR). The vacuum hose from it connects to a fitting on the intake manifold (exhaust is on the other side of the engine).
The fact that you're aware that the fitting was a T which is now broken probably means that you indeed have a disconnected hose somewhere.
Here's generally what things look like. Although any hose connected to the intake manifold can generally be switched to another port.
Upper left is the vacuum canister on the distributor.
Below that is the hose to the bypass valve.
Upper right is the PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) valve (notice it has a check valve in the line). If you follow that hose (through the big black insulation tube) to the manifold tee, the other side of the T has a hose that goes to the boost gauge in the dash.
Just to the left of the PCV valve is the FPR. The hose on the other end of that T goes to the vacuum canister (passenger fender on coupes, trunk on verts).
This picture has an extra vac line going horizontally across the middle. I'm not sure about that one.
